Joe Wilson May Need Career Counseling
Dear Rep. Joe Wilson,
As I was listening to President Obama’s speech last night, I heard you shout, “You lie.”
Now, at the time, I didn’t know it was you who shouted. The camera wasn’t on you – it was on the President. But I guess there were enough people around that saw you, so now everybody knows it was you.
Now if you were some heckler off the street, I could understand the shouting. Or if this was England, Japan or some parliamentary form of government, shouting is pretty commonplace. But this is America, and you’re not Average Joe, Joe Six Pack, or G.I. Joe. You’re Joe Wilson, an elected representative of South Carolina. You’ve been chosen to serve the people by discussing and drafting legislation that will benefit the people you represent. You were elected to be a part of the solution and not the problem.
Okay, you apologized. That’s good. But I heard you blamed your emotions for your outburst. Well, it’s clear you are an emotional guy, maybe even an angry guy. But Joe, let’s face it, you are your emotions. And given the position you are in, we the people, expect a little more maturity and the ability to keep your emotions in check. So my question to you is, why are you a congressman?
Maybe when you ran for office, you had the wrong idea of what your responsibilities were. Did you know that you were expected to think? Did you know that you were expected to discuss and make decisions on important matters that affect the lives of millions of people? Did you realize that you were expected to help others? Did you realize that your salary is being paid by the people you serve?
Joe, I’m wondering if you got into the right career. You may need some career counseling. I’m thinking professional heckler might suit you better.
If you make it through this political faux pas, then I hope you will fulfill your duties well. Otherwise, I’m thinking you’ll be joining the ranks of the unemployed and uninsured very soon. Maybe, then, you’ll think twice about shouting at the President.
Respectfully,
A Concerned Career Counselor

Joe Wilson from South Carolina, is just another good old boy where in the morning these married men preach to you that there should be prayer in our schools and in the evening they are on their cell phones setting up a date with their other women on the side, hypocrisy has been bred in. I am not surprised that he felt compel to yell like he was at some Friday night game. He is a hater not a debater like most of his side of the isle.
I discovered your homepage by coincidence.
